Terrapathic

Origin Story

As with most beginnings, it started out with a seed..

When I was young I remember my mother carried a key chain on her purse that had little red and black seeds attached to little elephant charms. She told me that they bring you good fortune and ward off the evil eye and were called Huayruro (why • ru• do) or known commonly as lucky seeds. They even resembled little lady bugs.  I began to find them every where or perhaps they were finding me. I’ve since collected them and given them out to people I cared for and eventually anyone who crossed paths with me so the seeds could bring them good luck and protection.

I started to make jewelry with the seeds first as little friendship bracelets then other things like earrings and as necklaces in little vials (in Peru they collect the seeds in jars for luck). I simultaneously got into wire wrapping and I always gravitated to a spiral-coil shape when wrapping anything. I see coils as a means amplify energy and I loved to work with copper being that it is a natural conductor of energy. Everything I make I create it with intention with that said combining the copper and the coil shape with the lucky seeds is intended to act as an amplifier for the seeds.

For a long time I never considered selling anything and rather enjoyed giving them as gifts. Friends began to encourage me to start selling them after receiving lots of compliments on the gifts they received and finally after over a decade I’ve decided to go for it. I went to school for web design and this is actually the very first web site I’ve ever made for myself since graduating in 2012 … it’s about damn time lol.

I created Terrapathic as a tribute to the seeds and the planet we all call home because in a way that felt both ancient and new as well as foreign and familiar I felt an emotional connection to the seeds and felt them communicate to me to share their power and protection with the world and in over a decade of the finding the seeds all through out my life in so many places. Ive begun to feel the seeds themselves encouraging me and now I have a fairly large amount to make all kinds of things with and this whole experience has truly brought me closer to nature which is a seed I aspire to plant in the hearts of everyone.
