Huayruro Lucky Seeds

Huayruro Lucky Seeds

The Huayruro lucky seed is a symbol of the origin from which all living beings are derived: plants, animals, and humans. A symbol of fertility and abundance duality and balance. The seeds are found in pods in the tall trees of the Peruvian rainforest and in various places all over the world. Collected and used as lucky charms and protective talismans particularly among indigenous communities often as offerings to Pachamama (Mother Earth).

The red and black seeds are said to bring good fortune, increase good luck and abundance while warding off negative energy. The mixture of black and red on the seeds is also said to bring balance.
  • Nature & Humans:

They reflect the harmonious relationship between humans and nature.

  • Good Luck & Protection:

Huayruro seeds are considered lucky charms and protective talismans in Peruvian culture, particularly among indigenous communities.

  • Fertility & Abundance:

They are also associated with fertility, abundance, and positive energy.

  • Duality & Balance:

The contrasting colors (red and black) of the seeds are seen as representing the duality and balance of life.

These beads have been worn as amulets since the ancient Inca era. The contrasting colors represent life’s opposing forces: happiness and sorrow, good and evil. Huayruro Seeds are more than just beautiful adornments. Newborns are often given Huayruro seed bracelets to protect their innocence, keep them from harm and bring good luck as well as warding off evil eyes.
